About
Tradies turned content creators.
The backbone of the page are Matt Ford and Jack Steele, two friends from small towns down the South Coast of NSW, who skyrocketed to fame with their contagious humour and relatable content.
Both dropping out of school in Year 11, Matt picked up a labouring job and Jack started a plastering trade and soon realised they had both fallen into jobs that they did not love. Fast forward to a spontaneous trip overseas where the pair decided to put down the tools and pick up the camera to share silly skits for their family and friends of their travels, and The Inspired Unemployed was born.
Fueled by their spirited Australian humour, fearlessness in facing awkward situations, and a hidden wellspring of ambition, they quickly achieved resounding success across Instagram and TikTok, and much to their surprise, also were began gaining the attention of some pretty impressive brands who were keen to work with the larrikins from the South Coast.
One thing led to another, and the two best mates quickly found themselves working with brands Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Netflix, Swisse and more. In 2022, the boys decided to take their love of making people laugh to the mic, and launched their very own weekly Spotify podcast, The Inspired Unemployed (original name, we know). On top of this, they also launched their very own beer brand, Better Beer, which has been hugely successful and an Australian fave for summer.
For most, juggling a few social media audiences, a beer brand and a podcast would be enough to keep their hands full, but not for ol’ Jack and Matt. In 2023, the pair fulfilled a huge goal of theirs: to have their own TV Show. The Inspired Unemployed Impractical Jokers took the boys and two of their best mates to the TV screens. Season two out now on Paramount+ and Ten Play.
Even with all of this going on, the boys love nothing more than hanging out with their mates in their share house down in the South Coast, and making each other laugh. Their infectious energy and carefree spirit have earned them a special place in the hearts of their millions of Aussies, turning The Inspired Unemployed into an inspiration for countless individuals seeking to live life to the fullest and embrace the joy of the unexpected.
